The Fuku Bio Saien logo changes from dark Japanese lettering on a pale background to white on seasonal colour fields and vegetable photography, including a cut pumpkin. The smiling bio lettering remains part of the mark. Japanese label shapes and seasonal badges gather around the coloured logo on a warm paper-coloured background.
A softly painted farm illustration changes the colours of its crop rows, then gives way to photographs of a pumpkin and blueberries. Motion footage shows a cucumber growing on the plant and a basket of freshly picked tomatoes. Japanese labels distinguish illustration, photography and motion.

A screen recording scrolls through the Fuku Bio Saien design system in Claude. It shows Natural and Caring voice principles with Japanese examples, a neutral and seasonal colour palette, Japanese type sizes, a farm illustration and layout examples, followed by vegetable photography, buttons, labels and website components.
Building a business around a Japanese farm
Fuku Bio Saien grows more than 80 vegetable varieties on four inherited fields in Tokorozawa.
Market foresight identified an emerging audience looking for provenance, transparency and accountability in Japan’s convenience-led food market. The strategy made safety and a direct relationship with the grower substantive reasons to choose the farm.
Connecting brand strategy sales channels and operations
Kerstin Ludwig helped develop Fuku Bio Saien’s brand, business and digital platform from its founding stage, working with the founder. The work connected the brand with what the farm could realistically produce and deliver.
Positioning offers and sales channels
Ludwig’s strategy work for Fuku Bio Saien covered brand directions, positioning, the value proposition and visual and verbal systems. The work extended into go-to-market planning, sales channels and customer journeys. Offers and growth decisions were shaped around the limits of one founder, four fields and seasonal production.
Direct sales, vegetable sets, retail and hospitality channels created different routes to the business. The founder and the reality of the farm remained at the centre of the brand.
A Japanese website and seasonal information
Kerstin Ludwig designed and built an approximately 90-page Japanese website for Fuku Bio Saien, with a searchable crop guide, seasonal content, vegetable-set information and delivery details. The platform brings together more than 80 crops, each with 3 recipes, twelve listed retail and hospitality partners, two weekly delivery routes and weekly sales at the farm.
Privacy-first analytics, structured information and SEO and AI Search foundations made the content easier to find and maintain. AI supported research, translation, content and implementation, with human review and the founder’s agricultural knowledge guiding the work.
Practical workflows behind the business
Built AI first, from design system to content to practical workflows with invoicing, forecasting, revenue and cost analysis, field planning, vegetable sets, shop sales and deliveries.
Revenue growth and the move to profit
Fuku Bio Saien subsequently reported more than 230% year-on-year revenue growth and moved from loss into profit.
That is a result of the wider business-building work with the founder. The current digital platform is one part of that development. Together, the brand, offers, channels and operating tools give a small business a coherent way to grow within its actual capacity.
