Key Terms of
AI Brand Visibility & Selection
Definitions are easy to find. What they mean operationally for a brand is not. This glossary translates 37 AI visibility terms into brand consequences: what each concept affects, what it is often confused with, and what guardrails are needed.

Why this whitepaper?
AI visibility glossaries already exist. What I missed was one that asked what the terminology actually means for brand — and what can realistically be influenced while models, measurement tools, and levels of implementation control keep changing.
I explored this across three brands with different starting conditions and levels of implementation control: two built from zero, allowing me to observe the full chain without inherited complexity — one where I could code, test, and ship directly, and one I followed with a lighter touch over time — plus an established brand where the code was outside my control. This whitepaper brings together what I learned.
